Why I built it
I came to Apple through macOS, and then it snowballed — iPhone, Watch, AirPods, HomePod. I'm completely locked in and I love it. Except for one thing: the keyboard. Coming from Android, the stock one drove me up the wall — no number row, no long-press for hidden characters, no real gestures. Almost every day I thought about going back to Android just for that. Gboard on iOS feels abandoned; SwiftKey is buggy and I don't want my typing synced to anyone's cloud. So I built my own.

Pick two active languages and stop thinking about the globe key. EFKey scores every word against both — Slovak diacritics come back, English contractions get their apostrophes, and it happens mid-sentence, exactly where you mix them. All offline.

That split second where a third-party keyboard flashes at the wrong size as it opens — almost every keyboard on iOS has it, Gboard included. It took about 25 builds to hunt down. It's genuinely gone now, not hidden.

What EFKey won't pretend.
I have none of the data Microsoft, Google or Grammarly have. EFKey works with public word databases, so on day one its prediction won't match a keyboard that's been trained on how you personally type for years. It learns your words over a few days and gets better. If something feels off, tell me exactly what you typed and what you got — and I'll tune it.

A keyboard sees everything you type — which is exactly why EFKey never lets it leave your iPhone. All correction and prediction models run on-device from local files: no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no network requests for typing. Can I really type in two languages at once?
Yes. Pick two active languages and EFKey corrects and predicts both simultaneously — even mid-sentence. “dakujem dont worry” comes out as “Ďakujem don't worry” without touching the globe key.
Which languages does EFKey support?
26 languages, each with full autocorrect, prediction and next-word suggestions. English is built in and works offline out of the box; every other language downloads in seconds as a small pack (~6 MB) — verified, installed atomically, and updated without waiting for an app update.
What's the difference between the EFKey skin (Glacier) and Native?
Glacier is EFKey's signature look — icy glass keys, a polar glow and a cyan Enter key. Native matches the iOS keyboard in layout, symbols and height, and stays the default. Both work in light, dark or auto — the skin and the theme are independent choices.
Does EFKey have swipe typing?
Yes — glide across the letters and EFKey builds the whole word from one trace, contractions included (didnt → didn't). The space commits with a short delay, Gboard-style, so you can finish or fix the word first.
Why does EFKey ask for Full Access?
Only for haptic feedback — iOS requires it to let a keyboard play haptics. Typing, prediction, autocorrect and even settings sync work fully without it. We never collect or transmit what you type — see the Privacy Policy.
What happens to what I type?
It stays on your iPhone. All correction and prediction runs on-device from local files — no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no network requests for typing. Learned words never leave the device and can be cleared in Settings.
